2000k to Rome

03/04/2024
Dr Nick Thompson is walking from Canterbury to Rome for good causes - 2000km!

Dr Nick Thompson, Consultant Gastroenterologist Freeman Hospital, Newcastle and current BAPEN President, his wife Ruth and two friends Rosey and Simon are aiming to walk the Via Francigena from Canterbury to Rome starting mid-April. Together with Newcastle Hospitals Charity PINNT will be benefiting from their amazing adventure.

The trip and route have been complicated because of the post-Brexit restrictions on time spent in mainland Europe, so it will be divided into three parts. They are determined, they have a plan and are meeting all the costs relating to their trip.

With a newly launched Just Giving page, they have already raised nearly £2,500. If you would like to cheer them on, they would welcome all donations, it’s not the amount but the thought and support this shows that counts.
