The winners have been announced

A huge thank you to everyone who took the time to submit a nomination. We received so many wonderful nominations, and every nominee was a worthy candidate for an award.

While sadly we can’t give an award to everyone, we are delighted to celebrate the achievements and contributions of all those nominated.

We’re now very pleased to share the winners of each category for the Tracy Hill Patient Champion Award, along with those who have been awarded a Certificate of Recognition.

Congratulations to everyone recognised and thank you to all who helped make these awards so special!

Carer Award

Congratulations to Lynsey Atkinson-Buckley, winner of the Tracy Hill Patient Champion Award 2026 – Carer Award!

Lynsey’s story of care and dedication began when she was just 10 years old and started supporting her mum, who receives home parenteral nutrition.

Throughout her mum’s care, Lynsey has been a constant companion at her bedside – holding her hand, helping the nurses whenever she could, and always keen to be involved and offer support. When her mum returned home, Lynsey remained a constant source of support for her and the whole family.

That remarkable commitment to caring for others has continued into adulthood. Today, Lynsey also cares for and supports her father, who is unwell, while balancing the demands of a full-time job.

Through it all, Lynsey has never complained. She simply continues to be there for the people she loves, offering unwavering care, strength and support.

Perhaps her mum says it best:

“She is one in a zillion, an angel without wings and a hero without a cape.”

Lynsey’s story is a wonderful reminder of the extraordinary contribution carers make every day, often quietly and without recognition.

Many congratulations to Lynsey on this incredibly well-deserved award.

We look forward to meeting Lynsey and having the pleasure of presenting her with the Tracy Hill Patient Champion Award 2026 – Carer Award.

Professional Award

Congratulations to Michelle Tingle, Clinical Nurse Advisor at Fresenius Kabi UK, who has won the Tracy Hill Patient Champion Professional Award!

Michelle consistently demonstrates a strong commitment to patient advocacy, ensuring that the patient’s voice is heard and respected, and remains at the heart of their care. On this occasion, however, her advocacy was truly exceptional. During a particularly complex intervention, Michelle went above and beyond to ensure that the patient’s voice remained central throughout. Through compassion, trust and respect, she helped to create an empowering experience for the patient – one grounded in dignity, understanding and genuine partnership.

This exceptional example reflects the values Michelle brings to her role every day: listening, advocating and ensuring that patients have a voice when it matters most.

Many congratulations to Michelle on this very well-deserved recognition!

We look forward to meeting Michelle and having the pleasure of presenting her with the Tracy Hill Patient Champion Professional Award.
