HPN homecare varies around the world
We are delighted to be able to share a document collated by PNDU (Parenteral Nutrition Down Under).
On a personal trip to Australia last year I was fortuante to attend some patient meetings. With a very warm welcome I was able to meet a unique young lady from America who was studying in Sydney. We attended a gathering in Sydney and on an ad-hoc basis we tried to show the variations in homecare.
In England we now have a framework that governs the provision of PN homecare. Scotland and Wales have their own governance. In England it has been a long and difficult process with some patients not entirely happy with the outcome as in order to make the service cost effective there have been some changes. We are collating feedback to represent our members and encourage people to contact us with any issues they may have.
What it is interesting is to see what patients in three other countries receive in terms of a homecare service.
