One year on: Member feedback on the impact of waste in home nutritional care

It’s been 12 months since we launched a national survey on clinical and non-clinical waste in home nutritional care – and we’re excited to finally share the findings with you.

This survey was born out of genuine concern from our PINNT members. Many felt that valuable products, resources, and time were being wasted within homecare services, causing frustration and unnecessary stress. Their voices must be heard.

The findings send a strong and consistent message – we must improve collaboration, coordination, and communication across the board. This report serves as a powerful reminder that the homecare services we depend on must be supported, protected, and sustainable.

We would like to thank Dr Emily Walters, Malnutrition Officer at BAPEN, for her valuable contribution to this work. We’d also like to thank all those that participated in the survey and shared their perspectives.
