The UK Home Artificial Nutrition (HAN) third Awareness week starts today
The official launch is taking place in the evening of 10 August 2015 in Darlington. During 2014 Sarah Robson, a PINNT member, jointly launched the Art Attack project with PINNT. We asked members to send clean used items which routinely would be disposed off once their procedures and treatments had taken place. Sarah, an art teacher and HPN patient, used her creative skills to replicate normal food with these items. The Artwork will be showcased at the launch, intermingled with normal food, it will also showcase how parenteral and enteral nutrition is done and how these treatments provide the necessary nutrition and hydration for our members to survive.
The Worshipful the Mayor of Darlington will be attending to welcome PINNT and open our Awareness Week.
We will of course be showcasing the main people, our members. This will be done on the night and during the week via our website and social media.
It is hoped that we can gain media interest in the event which in turn will highlight the work of PINNT and the people who rely on artificial nutrition to sustain life.
We salute all those who tirelessly carry on regardless of ill-health and home artificial nutrition. We know it takes a lot of commitment.
In the UK we are fortunate to have a wealth of knowledge and expertise in terms of healthcare professionals who treat and support many people on home artificial nutrition. They are truly committed to improving patient care and PINNT continue to build as many partnerships as we can to ensure the patient/carer voice is heard.
Please come back for further information from 10 August 2015.
