Carers, share your experiences, issues, tips and tricks: A new survey by University College London (UCL)

Researchers at University College London (UCL) would like to hear from carers who use feeding pumps in the home.

This project is interested in the experience of carers, the tips and tricks they develop to avoid errors and manage enteral feeding well, and issues they have experienced with the devices and giving medication (e.g. alarms disturbing sleep, blockages in tubes, crushing pills, lack of support, lack of training, etc.).

The team would like to understand these sorts of issues further so the design of devices, services and medication practices can be improved.
All those who complete the survey will be entered into a prize draw to win one of 7 prizes (which will be paid in vouchers):

· 1 x £100
· 2 x £50
· 4 x £25

The survey is open until the end of March. The team has worked with a small group of carers to develop a survey which is relevant to the community. It will take about 45 minutes to complete.

The survey is online at and can be accessed directly using the following link:

If you would like to be sent a paper version of the survey, and for more information, please contact Dominic Furniss at d.furniss ucl.ac.uk or on 0207 679 7085.
