If yes, then please keep reading
PINNT have been contacted by Dr. Carmen Soto, a PhD student at the University of Leicester who is in the process of putting together a study looking at the experiences of families who are caring for a child with an device, such as a gastrostomy at home and the everyday experiences of managing infection control at home.
The study will consist of interviews with children aged 4-12 years old who have such a device and an interview with their parent/carer. This will also be the potential for a brief observation period (at home or at school) in order to provide a better idea of the daily challenges that families face.
There is more detailed information available by reading the participant information sheet
here and you can contact Carmen Soto either by email at
ces39 le.ac.uk or via the telephone on
0116 252 5431 (please leave a message and she will get back to you as soon as possible)
You will have the opportunity to discuss the study in detail, so that you can decide whether you wish to participate in the study. There is no expectations.
If you would like to take part then please contact Carmen directly as PINNT may not be able to pass on your interest to take part.
