New group starting!
We are starting up a southern PINNT support and network group for anyone fed enterally (PEG s, NG s +) or parenterally (TPN) and their families and carers
Hopefully being on hospital grounds will make many of you comfortable to come if travel is still daunting - if the opposite is the case tho , please don't let it put you off, there's more to all of us than how we feed after all! Our group will cover adults and paediatric patients to share experiences initially but we are only setting the group up; what you all want for future meetings we can discuss once we all meet!
Our first meeting will be getting to know one another; there will be a craft table and music for the children too! There will be time and space for the adults to mingle and chat too. Please contact us in advance if there is any information you'd like to be included on the day and we ll do our best to source it! Similarly if you'd like to speak on the day and share your story... contact me too! The meeting will be what we all make it! If you're more of a wallflower, then please don't feel you'll be expected to chat or share. Just come along still and maybe make a new friend or two. A little about me, I'm a mum whose daughter has received enteral feeding and also parenteral. She's currently flying solo but of course still has intestinal issues. I'm starting the group with another mum whose daughter is also on TPN. We were lucky to find each other during very tough times and would love to help others experience the same. It really does help to meet others in similar situations; for the patients, but also those who care for them. PINNT membership of still free so please join using the form enclosed so we can grow our group. So here are the important details: Date:
April 2013 Time: 2 p.m. 4 p.m. Place:
Heartbeat Education Centre, F Level, North Wing, Southampton General Hospital On the day there will be signposts to the meeting.
