CN (Complete Nutrition - www.nutrition2me.com) announce the winners of their inaugural CN Awards

PINNT are delighted that Professor Marinos Elia was awarded a 'Lifetime Achievement' as well as Dr Simon Gabe being voted the 'Parenteral Nutrition Professional of the Year'. We congratulate the winners of the other categories but make special mention to Marinos and Simon as we work closely with them in many aspects of the work we do.

But guess what!?!? We have further news that is even closer to home. PINNT are bursting with pride with the special award 'The Commitment to Patient Care Award'. Geoff Simmonett (our past Treasurer and EC member for many years) sadly passed away in 2010, the CN team felt the need to dedicate a very special Award to Geoff, an enteral patient himself, for his huge contribution and devotion to the work of PINNT. This award will be presented to his wife Annette. It is a tribute to Geoff's exceptional determination, dedication and compassion for patient-focused nutritional support. He represented PINNT within BAPEN, and many other professional fora, and was never shy of communicating with people, albeit via his post it pad as his ability to talk had gone following his medical problems.

Geoff was a key member of the PINNT executive and he aptly demonstrated how working for charity enabled an individual to become part of a team, working tirelessly supporting patients who felt the introduction of home artificial to be a burden or huge concern.

Geoff inspired so many people. He worked hard and played even harder - Geoff had a love of life that was infectious.

PINNT are so proud of Geoff and feel honoured that this award has been so aptly named and his name will live on in a such an appropriate way within the world of nutrition.

We know Annette is hugely proud of Geoff; when we get some photos of the presentation will be posted them for all to see.
