Calling carers of people with short bowel syndrome (SBS-IF)

Intestinal failure, short bowel syndrome, is a hot topic at the moment your experience counts!

We are supporting the recruitment of participants for a survey, organised and funded by a pharmaceutical company, to find out about the experiences of people who care for an adult on parenteral support. Many of us are more familiar with intestinal failure, in essence, short bowel syndrome is another way of referring to having insufficient functional gut to absorb relevant nutrition and hydration.

Up to 70 people are required for this survey. Once the maximum number is reached then the survey will close. It will be open for participating from 12 June 2016 so it s a first come, first-served basis.

Why is your experience so important? Your responses will be used to capture your experience of how providing this care affects your life. Your experience is personal to you but combined with others it can showcase how this may impact on your life and well-being. This is all about you!

The survey is in 3 parts and will capture (i) information about you such as age, gender and your experience of caring for someone with intestinal failure (SBS), (ii) information about the condition of the person for whom you provide care* and (iii) the type of care you provide and how providing this care affects your life.

There is an introduction letter at the beginning of the survey - please read this carefully because it tells you more about why they would like to capture your experience! Due to strict governance to protect you this may appear a little lengthy but it s necessary.

Once you have completed the screening process, consent form and then the full survey you will be sent a £50 Amazon e-voucher to say thank you for your time. Remember only the first 70 relevant applicants will receive this. The survey can be accessed through this link:
